How To Book a Last Minute Safari
Planning a last-minute safari can be a thrilling adventure, but it requires quick decision-making and efficient planning. Here’s a step-by-step guide to help you plan a last-minute safari:
1.) Call Us!
You’ll meet your personal trip consultant and discuss your safari dreams. Together, you’ll choose one of our scheduled itineraries or design a custom adventure based on your budget, availability and interests. Together, we’ll plan your adventure from start to finish.
2.) Find your Flights!
Be prepared with your departure airport and cabin of choice (economy vs business) and we’ll make sure you find the best flights that fit your safari itinerary.
3.) Check Visa and Passport Requirements:
Ensure your passport is up-to-date and has enough blank pages for visa stamps. Tanzania offers visas on arrival, but if you’re adding an extension, we’ll help ensure that you meet the requirements for each country.
4.) Get Vaccinations and Medications:
No vaccinations are required to enter Tanzania! That said, we encourage guests to consult with their primary care physician and/or a travel clinic ahead of their departure.
5.) Travel Insurance:
Purchase travel insurance that covers unexpected cancellations, medical emergencies and other unforeseen events. Our guests highly recommend Travel Guard to protect their adventure.
6.) Pack Wisely:
Check out our packing recommendations that includes the best luggage, proper clothing, sturdy footwear, binoculars, a camera, sunscreen, insect repellent and any medications or personal items you need. Be mindful of baggage weight limits on internal flights. Your Thomson Safaris trip manager will help you here!
7.) Travel Documents:
Organize all necessary documents, including your passport, visa, travel insurance information and any pre-booked safari confirmations. Make copies and store them separately from the originals.
8.) Have Fun!
Congratulations, you put together the perfect safari! Sit back, relax and enjoy your adventure.
