When you think “African safari,” the first thing that comes to mind may not be fine dining and a side of relaxation – but a stay at Gibb’s Farm offers just that. With Thomson Safaris, you get the best of both adventure and luxury: the Serengeti will provide you with the excitement of awe-inducing wildlife, while an excursion to Gibb’s Farm is a taste of indulgence to accompany your safari.

Your Home Away from Home

Each guest cottage features a unique design aesthetic, with eucalyptus floors, hand-crafted furniture, two queen-size beds, an indoor and outdoor shower, a fireplace and a private veranda. In a recent review, a past guest describes the peaceful atmosphere:

“This was one of our stops in the middle of our safari and it couldn’t have been more perfect. The environment is calming, tranquil and beautiful with small paths and flowers everywhere. Walking through the farm, sipping wine and learning about the history of the place was mesmerizing. The food and staff were outstanding and there were plenty of activities for us to enjoy. We milked cows, walked through the gardens, watched coffee being roasted and relaxed on the patio. I would highly recommend this as a quiet oasis of rest in the middle of a busy safari.”

Farm-to-Table Dining

Crafted by Chef de Cuisine Chris Gibb, dishes feature fresh, organic produce and incorporate English and Tanzanian flavors to create a dining experience you will never forget. See what Bon Appetit’s Martina Navratilova had to say about dining at Gibb’s:

“The best meal I ever had was in Tanzania, in Gibb’s Farm, off Lake Manyara. They grow the vegetables and fruit in the backyard, and it’s organic. It was so healthy I would eat myself to death there. Unbelievable.”
