Some journeys stay with you forever. No matter where you go, you’re always harkening back to the things you felt and saw there. That’s how I feel about my thomson safari. I saw tons of wild lions, cheetahs hunting, leopards feasting on a kill, wildebeest swimming across the mara river, not to mention giraffes and zebras and baby elephants galore. Saw the Big Five and had a beautiful hot air balloon safari. Couldn’t have done it without my guide Freddy, who seemed to have this magic touch that willed incredible sightings into being. I ate great food (I’m a vegetarian and they pulled out all the stops). The staffers at the camps were great, kind, and incredibly attentive to my groups' needs. Every morning they brought tea and cookies to my tent! Was a nice touch. On the last day, when that final wildlife drive was nearing its end, I took a moment to commit as much as I could to memory: the way the shadows lengthened on the golden grass, a leopard lounging in an acacia tree, stuff like that. Maybe it sounds silly but there’s a part of me that will always be in those rolling Serengeti hills. Thank you Thomson Safaris!

I had such an amazing trek with Thomson Safaris! The guides and porters were so encouraging and there was not a single moment where I felt unsafe. This was definitely an adventure of a lifetime!

We woke up this morning wondering if it was all a dream! The advice and guidance from your staff made our Safari tour seamless from planning, booking, packing and paying, to our return home. Thank you so much all your time and effort; it all paid off in so many ways.We were blessed with a guide who was everything a traveller could want. Mustafa was so warm, kind and caring. No question was too silly, no wildlife went unnoticed, he was always there for us. The Camp crew were also attentive, without being intrusive. In the midst of so many amazing events, one highlight was our stay at Gibbs Farm. "Wow" doesn't begin to describe our accommodations, meals and activities. We would happily have stayed there another day or two.As you can guess, our opinion of Thompson Safaris is 5 stars all the way. Thanks for the memories 🥰

Our trip with Thomson Safaris will forever be in our memories and shared with family and friends. Truly a trip of a lifetime. We started with the Kilimanjaro Trek, followed by the Highlights of Tanzania Safari and finished off with a relaxing beach stint in Zanzibar. Every portion of the trip exceeded my expectations. The beauty of Tanzania is stunning but what made the trip so outstanding was the Guides. On the Kilimanjaro Trek our head guide Sam gave us complete confidence in our safety. In my opinion, Thomson Safaris stood out in the camps as the best. Every porter and all of the staff were so encouraging with their smiles and attitudes every day. And the chefs provided amazing meals and accommodated special food needs. Some days it was the little things that made our day so great like at the end of a long days hike when we were tired and ready to be done, the porters came back to meet us after setting up our camp and carried our backpacks the rest of the way. I truly miss everyone of them. Just when I thought Thomson couldn't be any better, they surprised me again with the most amazing tented camp experiences. So comfortable and beautiful and the animals were right outside our little zippered door. Listening to Wildebeests honk and snort outside my tent at night has become a cherished memory (Definitely record those sounds so you don't forget them). The staff, food, beds, showers etc. were all wonderful but I think your Guide is the key to a great safari and ours was the best. Freddy was with us from our first flight to our last. He is so full of knowledge and so patient. Spending days with him was a true joy. After safari I chose Zuri resort in Zanzibar upon Thomson's recommendation and it was a true 5 star resort! Thomson organized all of our travel between portions of the trip and everything went smooth right down to getting covid tests to return home. Someone was with us every step of the way. Thank you so much Thomson. I'm ready to start planning our next trip with you!

I chose Thomson Safaris for my Kilimanjaro climb after a good deal of research, including contacting a dozen of their past clients. The many pages of documents I received from Thomson were helpful, although talking to their U.S. staff was necessary to clarify details of the rental equipment. When I arrived at the Kilimanjaro Airport, everything was exactly as a sleep-deprived, jet-lagged traveler could want -- a driver was waiting to take me to the hotel, all reservations were in order, and the orientation meeting the next day between us nine (slightly anxious) climbers and Sam, the mountain guide, imparted confidence. The planning and logistics necessary to get inexperienced climbers to the top of Kilimanjaro, in safety and relative comfort, is significant. I don't recall a single issue which was not handled with ease. There may be times to use a bargain company for touring in Africa, but climbing a 19,340 foot mountain is not one of them.

Definitely a trip of a life time. Met and exceeded our expectations. Our tour guide Hashim was super knowledgeable, wonderful to talk to and a joy to spend 10 days with. We loved meeting all the great staff at each camp site. They all took the time to really make us feel at ease and at home. The food at the camps…the best unexpected surprise of the trip!We couldn’t be happier that we used Thomson Safaris for our first trip to Africa. I’ve already had friends and family ask what company we used and if we would recommend using them. Everyone is getting a resounding YES from us!Asante!
