And it feels so, so good!

We’re excited to share that for the first time in over five months, Thomson Safaris has returned to the Serengeti on safari! This month Thomson Safaris and longtime partner African Wildlife Foundation (AWF) united once again to host AWF CEO, Kaddu Sebunya and his family on their first safari in Tanzania.

The guides were thrilled to be back in the bush and sharing their knowledge. The camp staff were delighted to open the nyumba camps back up and welcome guests. And – although we can’t prove this – we think the animals were just has happy to have visitors again!

We’re excited each and every time we get to share the magic of Tanzania and the Serengeti with our guests, but after such a long absence, this one feels especially sweet!

Things on this trip, of course, looked a little different and will continue to look that way for a while. We’re just so joyful that we can once again share our home with so many of you! The team in Tanzania has put new Standard Operating Procedures in place, without losing one ounce of what makes this country so special.

Our spirits are feeling infinitely lifted, knowing we’re all one step closer to those crimson Serengeti sunsets, the smell of those waving dried grasses, and staring eye to eye with a lion!
