Known as Willie to his friends, Wilfred was born in Karatu, Tanzania, and raised in Nairobi, Kenya. A solo trip to Ngorongoro Crater inspired him to leave a career in sales and pursue his calling as a safari guide. After studying Wildlife Management at Mount Meru Professional Tour Guide School, he began guiding in Tanzania, spending five years primarily in the Serengeti and developing a deep knowledge of its wildlife and ecosystems.

For Wilfred, great guiding is about storytelling, strong communication, and a deep understanding of the natural world. He sees guiding as a form of therapy — it brings him peace, purpose, and a sense of belonging. Passionate about conservation, he is committed to protecting Tanzania’s wild places so future generations can experience their beauty. He loves meeting people from different backgrounds, exchanging stories and cultures, and sharing the wonders of Tanzania with his guests. When he’s not guiding, Wilfred enjoys reading, watching nature documentaries, playing soccer, listening to music, and spending time with friends.
