What do you do?
I like that there’s a little magic in my job as a Safari & Kilimanjaro Consultant, helping people take their dream of “Africa” and make it a reality. A lot of people know how their safari should feel but not how to make that happen – that’s where I come in!

What’s your favorite part of your job?
I get to talk about incredible vacations every day—what’s not to love? I’ve been fortunate to travel extensively, and I enjoy sharing my experiences and tips with our guests. Whether someone’s nervous about safari bathrooms, for example, or unsure what to expect during a layover in Doha– I’ve been there. I’m always happy to offer honest insight into what it was like for me and what I wish I’d known from the start.

Besides safari, what has been your favorite past travel experience?
I recently traveled to Uzbekistan with an old college friend, and we had an incredible time exploring a part of the world that few Americans have experienced. It was fascinating to learn about the country’s evolution as an independent, post-Soviet nation. I’m always drawn to places that feel “new” or off the beaten path, and I especially enjoy traveling in the off-season—it offers a more authentic glimpse into everyday life.

What’s next on your travel bucket list?
Everywhere! I have a running list of places I’m inspired by. I think my next big trip will be Southeast Asia, I’m especially excited about Vietnam at the moment.

What is your favorite safari animal?
Elephants! They’re massive and powerful, yet incredibly intelligent and gentle. There’s nothing quite like being up close to one and watching the amazing dexterity of their trunk in action.

My insider travel tips are:
If you’re using your phone as your only camera, keep it on airplane mode and low power mode to conserve the battery.

Also, take photos of your packed suitcase, both the inside and outside. If anything happens to your luggage, having these pictures can be incredibly helpful when filing a report with the airline or an insurance claim.
